Leonardo da Vinci Exhibition in Palma

An exhibition of the inventions of Renaissance genius Leonardo

The Sophia Foundation presents an exhibition showcasing some of the inventions of Leonardo Da Vinci.

From 10th July to 30th September an impressive collection of reproductions of the inventions of Leonardo Da Vinci, which highlight the creativity of the Renaissance genius.

The exhibition includes a reproduction of the wings, six feet long, the bike and the bust of Leonardo, reproduced full-scale from the original found in the house where the genius in Vinci. Also, visitors can admire the chariot, the turntable, the helicopter, parachute, etc. are all taken from various manuscripts and sketches of Leonardo, including the Codex Atlanticus dating from 1490.

Visitors can also indulge with a setting of the artist's studio, where they can be seen reproductions of sketches in which he captured images of his unlimited imagination. Some of these sketches were the basis for the realization of the reproductions that can be seen in the exhibition, created by volunteers cultural workshop Sophia Fine Arts Foundation.

Many of the pieces presented in this exhibition are inspired by models collected from nature: flying birds viewed on wings or helicopter, the inventor of the displacement system copied from certain seeds, are examples.

The route of this didactic collection includes extensive documentation, divided into various explanatory planeles in Catalan, Castilian and English to children and adults appreciate the scope of the genius of this icon of the Renaissance.

"This is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy the fascinating invensiones of Leonardo Da Vinci" explains Antonio Marí, CEO of Sophia Foundation. "The creativity and ingenuity of this man logo Renaissance knew no bounds, and you can see through this exhibition is just a small percentage of the reach of his many records," he adds.

The Sophia Foundation in an effort to promote the study, research and dissemination of ideas and art of traditional cultures, offered through this exhibition a unique view of the inventive work of Leonardo Da Vinci. "Translating the inventions of Leonardo has become a channel of knowledge of the figure of Genius," says Prof. Herminia Gisbert, vice president of the Sophia Foundation. "Through imitation of his work we can see the creative process of the man behind the legend," he added.

The exhibition will be open to the public Monday through Saturday from 17:00 to 22:00 in Calle Jaime Ferrer 3 (next to La Lonja). The donation is € 4 per person. Children under 12 free.
