Saint Agatha is traditionally revered as the patron saint of nurses, though primarily associated with women. Born in Catania, Sicily, around 230 AD, Agatha hailed from a wealthy and respected family, dedicating herself to God from a young age. Despite threats from Quinciano, she remained steadfast in her faith in Jesus Christ. Subsequently, she endured lashes and ultimately succumbed to death by being placed on hot coals. Remarkably, a year following her martyrdom, during an eruption of Mount Etna, the lava halted its advance when the local populace invoked Saint Agatha's intercession. This miraculous event took place on February 5, 251 AD.
