Jumeirah luxury hotel in Mallorca opens today
The newest addition to the Jumeirah hotels and Mallorca's new luxury destination
After years of development, the Jumeirah Port Soller Hotel & Spa has finally opened. The resort hotel opens today, giving Majorca one of the most luxurious hotel destinations in Europe. The hotel promises guests "an unforgettable stay- with world class service and a new standard of luxury in Mallorca."
The hotel, which has been under construction on and off since 1996, has been designed to offer superlative quality and comfort with a traditional Mallorcan feel. The 18,000 sqm resort incorporates orange, lemon and olive trees into its landscape. It features tall grass on the rooftops and the building curves into the natural coastline - resulting in a luxury hotel that works in harmony with nature.
Of the 120 rooms and suites available in the new hotel, over half have sea views with the remainder looking out over the mountains and the village of Port de Soller below.
As well as the regular suites there are "Speciality Lighthouse and Observatory Suites". The Lighthouse Suite "comprises of 110 square metres across two levels, with a 223-square-metre private terrace and outdoor Jacuzzi", while the Observatory Suite boasts over 150m² of living space and a private terrace. It can also be joined to ten other rooms making it an ideal place for a family or group.
The resort has five restaurants and bars, an infinity pool and the Talise Spa which has 10 treatment rooms. There is also a fitness suite with gym and an outdoor hydropool as well as 3 fully equipped meeting rooms.
The resort looks stunning and the views over the sea are beautiful. Prices for the rooms vary hugely depending on time of year and which suite or room you want to book. A Superior room in May will cost under €400 a night but the Observatory Suite in the middle of August will set you back €3,375. Ouch.
