Hiker Rescued from Cliff Face in the Tramuntana Mountains
The Guardia Civil were alerted be the man himself
The Mountain Rescue Group (GREIM) as well as Mallorca firefighters arrived on the scene to discover that the man was 80 metre high rock wall, unable to move up or down to safety.
Still some 60 metres from the top of the cliff, the rescuers had to descend on ropes from a helicopter to reach the hiker, where he was then winched to safety. The episode took place in the La Trapa area of the Tramuntana Mountains in Andratx.
