Frequent flights to Mallorca for summer 2017
Increased routes to Palma airport from all over Europe
British Airways have announced new connections to Palma from Birmingham, Bristol and Manchester, while Easyjet will link Mallorca's airport with Bordeaux this summer.
These announcements come right after the island's regional government revealed that the number of passengers at Palma Son Sant Joan airport grew a 12% in 2016. BA will fly every weekend to Mallorca from Birmingham and Bristol, while Easyjet will operate their Bordeaux to Palma route on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from June 26th.
The airport might also change its name soon, as the Consell of Mallorca have unanimously demanded to dedicate it to the memory of Ramón Llull. This 13th-century philosopher, writer and logician is one of the main historical Mallorcan figures and would join the likes of Amerigo Vespucci, Galileo Galilei, Federico García Lorca or Louis Armstrong who have given their names to the airports of Florence, Pisa, Granada and New Orleans, to give a few examples.
